An impressive late Victorian emerald and diamond brooch, dating to circa 1880–1900, featuring a beautiful rectangular-cut emerald displaying a rich, deep green colour, secured by contrasting yellow gold claws.
The central emerald is surrounded by an elaborate arrangement of sparkling old-cut diamonds, traditionally silver set on gold, characteristic of fine jewellery from the late Victorian period.
The intricate openwork design features graceful sweeping curves, scalloped edges and beautifully arranged diamond clusters, creating a striking and distinctive silhouette. The darkened silver settings provide a wonderful contrast to the brilliance of the diamonds, enhancing the character and charm of this elegant antique piece.
The brooch is fitted with a traditional single-pin fastening to the reverse.
